最終回は、比呂とひかりの結末が明確に描かれず、もどかしい気持ちになりました。しかし、あだち充先生らしい、読者の想像に委ねる終わり方が、この作品のテーマである「揺れ動く心」を表現しているようで、深い余韻が残りました。野球と恋愛を通して、登場人物たちの成長を丁寧に描いてくれていて、青春の甘酸っぱさを思い出しました。

Summary of the final episode
The protagonist, Hiro Kunimi, as a high school baseball player, has lived a life of wavering between baseball and love with his childhood friends Hikari Amamiya and Haruka Koga, and his rival Hideo Tachibana. In the final chapter, Hiro faces off against Hideo in the Koshien final. With his feelings for Hikari and his passion for baseball in his heart, Hiro fights a fierce battle with Hideo. The story concludes without depicting a clear winner or loser, with a scene where Hiro confesses to Hikari, “Hikari, me and me and…”
Review of the final episode
The final chapter made me feel frustrated as the conclusion for Hiro and Hikari was not clearly depicted. However, the ending, which leaves the rest to the reader’s imagination, which is very typical of Mitsuru Adachi’s style, seemed to express the theme of “a wavering heart,” and it left a deep impression on me. The story carefully depicted the characters’ growth through baseball and love, and it reminded me of the bittersweetness of youth.
