主人公の宮本大は、ジャズの本場アメリカへ渡り、ジャズ発祥の地であるニューオーリンズ、そしてジャズの中心地ニューヨークへと活動の場を移します。大は、NYのクラブで新たな仲間、ピアニストのクリスとドラマーのジョシュとトリオ「DAI Miyamoto US Trio」を結成します。彼らはNYのジャズシーンで頭角を現し、ついに世界の最高峰とされるライブハウス「ヴィレッジ・ヴァンガード」への出演を果たすのです。最終回では、3人がヴィレッジ・ヴァンガードで最高のパフォーマンスを披露し、観客を熱狂させる姿が描かれます。物語は、大がアメリカでの成功を収め、次なる舞台である世界ツアーへ向かうことを示唆して幕を閉じます。

Summary of the final episode
The protagonist, Dai Miyamoto, travels to the United States, the birthplace of jazz, and moves his activities from New Orleans, where jazz originated, to New York, the center of jazz. In an NY club, Dai forms a new trio, “DAI Miyamoto US Trio,” with pianist Chris and drummer Josh. They make their mark on the NY jazz scene and finally get to perform at the “Village Vanguard,” which is considered the world’s most prestigious live house. The final chapter depicts the three of them giving their best performance at the Village Vanguard and exciting the audience. The story concludes by suggesting that Dai has succeeded in the US and is heading for his next stage, a world tour.
Review of the final episode
The final chapter of BLUE GIANT EXPLORER was heartwarming as it depicted Dai’s success on the new stage of America. In particular, his performance at the Village Vanguard, the holy land of jazz, was a touching culmination of all of Dai’s hard work and growth. The ending, which also showed him meeting new friends, was full of hope and hinted that Dai’s music would continue to expand. All the way to the final chapter, I felt his passion for jazz and the joy of connecting with people through music, and after reading it, I felt refreshed.
