感想・レビュー
幼少期から描かれていた龍馬の人生が、志半ばで終わってしまった最終回は、胸が締め付けられるほど切なかったです。特に、武田鉄矢さんの龍馬への深い愛情と、物語に込められた熱い想いが伝わってきて、読了後も深い余韻が残りました。龍馬の死は悲しい結末でしたが、彼の夢や志が、後の世に生きる人々に引き継がれていく様子が丁寧に描かれていて、単なる歴史の物語ではなく、人の生き様を深く描いた傑作だと改めて感じました。

Summary of the final episode
Sakamoto Ryoma achieves his great dream of changing Japan by bringing about the Taisei Hokan (Restoration of Imperial Rule). However, immediately after, he is attacked at the Omiya inn in Kyoto along with Shintaro Nakaoka. It was a tragedy that occurred just as he was about to embark on a new path, having refused to take up a key post in the new government. In the final chapter, Ryoma, on the verge of death from the assassination, has a final conversation with Nakaoka and worries about the future of Japan. The story concludes by suggesting that Ryoma died with his aspirations unfulfilled, but his will was passed on to many people. His death had a great impact on Japanese history and became the driving force for a new era.
Review of the final episode
The final chapter, where Ryoma’s life, which had been depicted since his childhood, ended prematurely, was so heartbreaking. In particular, the deep affection that Tetsuya Takeda had for Ryoma and the passionate feelings he poured into the story were palpable, leaving a deep impression even after I finished reading. Ryoma’s death was a sad conclusion, but the way his dreams and aspirations were carefully depicted as being passed on to the people of later generations made me realize again that this was a masterpiece that deeply portrayed a person’s way of life, not just a historical story.
