主人公のエドワードとアルフォンスのエルリック兄弟は、失った体を取り戻すため、「賢者の石」を求め旅をしてきました。最終回では、兄弟が物語の黒幕である「お父様」と最終決戦に臨みます。エドワードは、賢者の石を使わずに、自らの力でアルフォンスの体を取り戻すことを決意。彼は、真理の扉に自分の錬金術の能力を差し出すことで、アルフォンスの体を元の世界に引き戻します。物語は、エドワードが錬金術を使えなくなってしまう代償を払った後、兄弟がそれぞれの道を歩み始める姿で幕を閉じます。エドワードは、再び国家錬金術師として、アルフォンスは、再び錬金術師として、それぞれの道を歩み、人々のために尽力していきます。
感想・レビュー
最終回は、兄弟が失った体を取り戻すことができて、本当に良かったです。特に、エドワードが自分の命ではなく、錬金術の能力を犠牲にしたところに、彼の弟に対する深い愛情を感じ、感動しました。明確な結末ではなく、彼らがそれぞれの道を歩んでいくという終わり方が、この作品らしいと思いました。完璧なハッピーエンドではないけれど、希望に満ちた終わり方で、読後感も最高でした。

Summary of the final episode
The protagonists, the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse, have been traveling in search of the “Philosopher’s Stone” to regain their lost bodies. In the final chapter, the brothers face off against the mastermind of the story, “Father.” Edward decides to regain Alphonse’s body with his own power without using the Philosopher’s Stone. He offers his own alchemy ability at the Gate of Truth to bring Alphonse’s body back to his world. The story concludes with Edward paying the price for not being able to use alchemy anymore and the brothers starting their separate paths. Edward and Alphonse will continue on their respective paths as State Alchemists and alchemists and work for the people.
Review of the final episode
The final chapter was really good because the brothers were able to regain their lost bodies. In particular, I was moved by the fact that Edward sacrificed his alchemy ability, not his life, which showed his deep love for his brother. I thought the ending, where they went their separate ways instead of a clear conclusion, felt true to the work. It was not a perfect happy ending, but it was full of hope, and I felt great after reading it.
